I was flat towing my TJ the other day and I think I really need gears. I have the stock gears I think they are 3.55 should I go to 3.73 or 4.10? I have 265 x 75 x 16 tires on. What do you think my RPM be at 70 with the new gears? Also I would like to put a plug on the from of the TJ so I can plug my tail lights to my CG lights can I do this I was told that I may mess up my computer on the TJ if I try this. I don't see why but I like to ask.

thanks

for gears, I'm not too certain. For the lights, you can splice into the harness to the rear, but you need to disconnect the battery on the TJ when using them...

My only concern is feeding electricity from the light back thru the electrical system may affect some components that expect it going the other direction. Car's today use the computer for almost everything and doing that concerns me.

Read this info, I think it talks about what I was trying to say
You do not want electric feedback into your vehicle being towed as it can cause problems.

You could wire for that using RV 7-pin connector that has a separate 12v for battery charging.
That would be fine as long as you wire it to the battery directly.

It is a 1 time pain and then there is no worries.

I have the 7 pin on the GC. I thought that would have been cool to drive and charge the battary.

I have another idea. I'm going to cut the wires by the drivers feet heading back to the rear lights and put in a plug on it then run wires from the front of the Jeep to it. that way when I want to tow it I unplug the factory wires and plug in the other wires comming from the GC.
