Well this is going to take some time getting use to but it's kind of cool.

CD back up of entire system-18 disks, start time 3:00PM, finish time 8:45PM

Recovery back up disk-10 Cd's or 2 DVD's. I had CD's, started @ 8:45PM, finished @ 11:30PM

I'm glad it only has to be done once.

I did not have any DVD's (if U could use them, I'm still trying to figure this system out) for the back up so that's why I had to use a lot of CD's.

Just letting some of U know who maybe thinking about Vista.

P.S. the Lap-top is working well w/the dual-core processor (recommended along w/a min of 1gig ram) & some of the features R nice.

P.S.S. I purchased a Targue Chill Pad from wal-mart, it has two fans & your lap top sit's on top of it to help keep the LT cool, for 24 bucks it's worth it & it plugs into your usb port. After9 hours of operation the bottom of the Lt is cool to the touch. I recomend this if U have a LT.

I would take this battery eating, resource taker back to wallmarlt and get this which is what I have. :gossip:
Lapinator works great.
LAPINATOR!

Get the Plus and you'll have room for a mouse and it fits across the lap better. You can get them on ebay for a few dollars less.

With regards to Vista. I have 2 free upgrades sitting in the shelf to be sold. I'm still using XP Pro with the classic menus.

Your HP with dual core Lap is very sweet.

I'm not sure about that Lapinator, just a basic heat sinc. The one I have has two fans in it & it stay's very cool. Most of the time the LT is plugged in so the Chil Pad really doesn't hurt the battery.

Jim,

I can see now the use for this especially if you had the laptop on a desk and it was hours of crunching as well as being your main computer where you can plug other things to it. :cry1:

For me personally it's a bit overwhelming for when I'm in bed or on the couch to have it plugged in. I've been using the Lapinator over a year, the laptop and my legs (among other things) remain cool when I'm using it in these situations.

I can understand you wanting this since you are a heavy power computer user using the new Vista that hogs half your installed ram.
