I recently upgraded the rims on my trailer with 35" tires to match the ones on my Jeep. However, the fenders would not fit with the larger tires.
I thought about doing a spring over, but that made the trailer's center of gravity to high. Then I took a close look at the fenders. If I flipped them inside out, I could gain some clearance.
I decided to cut off the old brackets and move the mounting position of the fenders a little higher.
I also cut out the welded joints in the fenders so I could strecth them a little wider.
I drilled three holes into the thicker sides of the fenders and matching holes in the tub.
This final results provided me with 3" of clearance all between the fender and tire.
Here's a close up look of the left fender placement.
To see the rest of the pictures of my trailer, goto: Jeep Trailer
Note: If you have one of the newer trailers, you might not be able to do this modifcation because your fenders maybe welded onto the tub.
