Even it you don't go all the way original there are some fine looking CJs out there that I have seen. I think the most important that catches my eye is body, instrument panel and original outside lights. As long as the tires don't get out of hand in size you can really slowly turn this one into a looker.

Thanks,
I will not go any larger that the 32 inch Supper Swampers it has.
I need to research how the Gas Tank and Seats mount because currently it has an aluminum custom made tank up agains the back of the tub.
Oh it also has original hood and windshield hinges.

It's a 1974 cj5 with a 360v8, d20 t case and d30/d44 axles.
It's not running right but should be in a couple of weeks.

problem is I moved from salt lake to idaho falls, the cops here don't have crime to fight and red stands out way to much, this thing will be around 2500 lbs with a 4.3, thinking about a super charger or turbo, it won't be slow, I don't need anymore tickets
when you coming this way again?

With turbo you will not have to worry about color but rather sound. Besides the cops will stop you because they will just want to talk about the Willys. Happened to me a few times on mine.

Well to the point, my buddy works an auction over here in Fort Myers, and he posted these pictures on his Facebook. He likes taking pictures of interesting cars that come through.
What do you think it is, or is supposed to be.

Very nicely restored, South America is big on these, in fact they have an event every years where they all show up that has broken participation records. They load them up with just about anything.

Here's my buddy, Mongo, a 1975 CJ5.
I picked him up in 2006, when I lived in Coconut Creek and took him with me when I moved to NC in 2008.
I moved back here, to Boca, and "boarded" him with our friend Lisa (JeepsR4Grlz2) while I got settled in at the new job, spent 7 months house hunting, moved in, got married, moved the wife in, and so on. I finally brought him home last December.
The movers didn't take great care of him on the trip back, so I've got a lot of repairs before putting him back on the road - but cool weather's right around the corner. No big deal.
The engine blew on my YJ 2 months after I dropped too much money into the tranny and rear diff, so I had considered selling the CJ5 out of frustration. My wife has talked me out of it, though, as she really wants us to keep it.
