Here is a very rare photo of the Willy's Overland XM151 with the Original Grill design.

The grill is as a stock M151 grill or later models but the slats are Jeep's standard up and down top to bottom look.

The M151 prototype had a solid frame and solid ridgid axels as stock and the body was a tub not uni-body design.

Later Willy's sold the design to Ford Prior to Kaiser coming into the picture.

Willy's would later build the newer Ford design version of the M151 under a shared contract.

Their were differences all the same, the Willy's was lighter then the Ford and was slightly longer as well.

The only Mutt that could be called a Jeep was the Willy's version.

This indeed is very rare, wish the pic had a bit more clarity. I was not aware that they came with the original grill design.

The 151 was a really nice and durable Jeep. This is what I drove when I was in the service. :puke:

Darn that is sweet! :2thumup: :good: That truck is really tricked out.

I noticed he is displaying the Horseless Carriage tag in the back. I wonder if he know he legally does not have to display it if he does not want to. :biggrin1:

Here's some recent shots of the Mite with the unit markings added. I noticed that earlier in the thread some of my pics are now red Xs so it's time to update that anyway.

And one of it at the MVPA statewide rally back in February.

I've got the top on it now (since that's the way I took it to Jeeptoberfest) so maybe I'll get some shots of her wearing her "hat".

Dave, I like the rear seat rest backs, it could fit into my plans for the 8 conversion. Where can some one pick up two in the near future?

I just noticed this Jim, sorry.

I'd call Darryl Bensinger in Narvon, PA. He's got lots of "take-off" parts from Mighty Mites. There were actually two types of seats. The earlier, short wheelbase Mite had two seats mounted on the tailgate, which of course, was bolted closed. Later, long wheelbase Mites, like mine, had the back only with the piano hinges and the riders sat atop the wheel well.

Darryl also sells pieces for the MB/GPWs so a quick search will yield his phone number. He is the Mighty Mite expert.

I believe that was done to cut down the wash of light and bring it down to a flat beam.
