Ya, :cop:

But I thought U had to do something to be able to switch back and forth from Diesel Fuel to the cooking oil for start up, maybe I'm wrong. 0.70 cents a gallon is great.

I'm told switching over to Diesel on startup is necessary too.

A friend is actually in cahoots with a Mexian chain restaurant owner up in Broward and has a deal to take all his used cooking oil. He calls it the Tortilla Truck for good reason.

not correct -- you only need to do this if you run SVO (straight Vegi Oil). Not with biodiesel ...

this setup is not reccomended ... most forums frown on its design and strongly encourage people to stay away from it ...

I will begin to make/use BD (biodiesel) for my truck (95 suburban) real soon ... Should cost about 60cents a gallon ...

here are some links for those looking for more info ...

Also, Henry from 4x4 mania has done several Jeep to diesel conversions. 2 wranglers and 3 cherokees have been fitted with a diesel from a Nissan Patrol. Its an inline 6 diesel engine. I have driven 2 of them and it was quite nice ...

Would be nice to get a new CRD in it instead ... Mountain Man do you know if t will bolt on to a NV3500 (is that the right model #?) my tj has?

Why don't you take some pics of your set up and show us how you are doing it and the process you have to go through. Make also reference to cost.

well right now I have made several small batches (1liter) just to test out the process ...

I've just located a good, inexpensive source for the methanol (about $2.20 a gallon) and I have been given enough lye for several large batches.

I will be collecting the equipment to start production in the comming weeks and will take pictures on that process ...

Here are my current estimates for a 50 gallon batch ...

50 used Veggie oil -------------- $FREE
11 gallons of Methanol --------- $24.20
Lye --------------------------------- $3.00
___________________________________

thats $27.20 for about 50 gallons of fuel ... -- 54 cents a gallon ...
