I was told today that I could bolt up some 360 heads on a 304 w/out moding anything & that the motor would turn out to be close to a 350?
True?
Thanks,

absolutely not... you can put 360 heads on a 304... but it will still be a 304. :jump:
what determines displacement is the area the pistons cover while traveling... putting a 360 crank into it will make it a 360... thats why there are 100 different head designs (different chamber sizes) for the chevy 350, and they are all considered 350 ci.
unless the 304 has an emissions crazy head design like chrysler tried in the 80's ... there wouldnt be alot of benefit to using 360 heads without the 360 crank. youll just lower your compression ratio, the 304 crank will only "suck and blow" the same amount of air as before. (without more air, no more power)
