Question:
Will a Scrambler Body fit on a CJ7 frame, or did they make the Scrambler frame longer? :idiot:

Thanks,
RollBar

Scrambler frame was longer...it had to be to accomodate the 8's longer wheelbase as compared to the 7's.

But how much longer?

Where would you cut a 7 frame to extend it to a Scrambler frame?

Thanks,

Not knowing a lot about bracing and strength issues concering CJ frames ......I would think cutting it between the tranny/T-case cross member and the front of the rear spring hanger would be your best bet.....then just add in the proper length steel to make the frame longer and hopefully someone can help to tell you where/how to brace it for strength and durability.

im no big spender... but i would buy a CJ8 frame from one of the major suppliers. the CJ frames typically go for ~1500 dollars... the 8's frame may cost more but... depending on the condition of the 7's frame and your confidence in your welding skills. it may be worth it for peace of mind.
