I lost the cap on the overflow bottle so I used the cap off of a water bottle, it's the kind U buy for a 10 speed bike (the bigger one). It fit's perfect & all U have to do is put a large tye-wrap under the pop up valve (the valve U have to pull up on to drink) to keep it open for a vent. Make a small hole in the lip so U don't loose it on the ROCKS, :sneak: :lroll: :cool1: .

Can you please take some picks and post them with that "new" camera of yours :cool1: This will keep the blind members of JeepTalk from speculating. :behind:

How's that.

If U notice the top of the cap (is where U drink from when it's used as a drinking bottle on a bike) has a large tye-wrap between it holding it up to vent. I had the Jeep over heat once & it did NOT pop the cap off, the cap fit's like a glove & holds up to the heat very well.

P.S. the best part is that it is ROUND, :sneak: :lroll: :jump: , so it might not work on a yJ. :tongue1: :sneak:  :byehappy:

Rollbar,

Why do you have to vent the cap & keep it open? The stock caps are not vented they have a hose to the side just like I see you do from the pictures. Does it actually help?

I also lost my cap once and I had a heck of a time finding a replacement, good simple info. :byehappy:

Btw, this is also very handy as when you are thirsty you can now take out the over flow bottle and have a drink.

I vented it because it's not a totaly air tight system when it comes to the bottle/tank, plus I overheated once & the cap poped off so I ties it down & vented it. Just b-4 I changed out my rad to a 3 core it became clogged & overheated & w/the cap vented it spewed out the hole & the cap remained on.

When U cut the cap off the bottle cut it in such a way where U have a tab to put a wire through it & go around the bottle & splice it.

It still keeps the rad full evenw/the cap vented due to the fact the hose in near the bottom of the tank.

ALSO, pull the hose that's in the overflow tank out of the main cap hole (can't get it back in the regular hole) & cut it so that there is a 45* angle @ the bottom of the hose, this will help in keeping the hose from picking up some soot/trash off the bottom.

It fit's just like factory plus w/it vented U cut down on the hazzard of knocking it off & having hot fluid in yo face.

P.S. It's been on there for about 5 yrs.

P.S.S. I like the idea of the drinking aspect of the cap, WOW, that's two tricks in one. :sneak: :lroll:
