I'm trying to re arrange to attend but not sure now.
On another note:
Even though SFJC started their own forum (which is exceptional) there can still be announcements topics here on JT or for that matter to any other forum announcing dates and events as well as listing them on other calendars. It can actually bring more traffic to the club as the new club forum rarely has traffic. I for one do not visit the new forum as I don't have time even sometimes to be on JT, that and I don't like to hang around open source for security reasons but that's another story.

Per standard practice with all meetings, the club meeting was announced by email. Please note SFJC meetings have not always been recorded to this forum's calendar. With respects to Tuesdays, The club has been holding meetings on Tuesdays as far back as October 2011.
As with all meetings, please do you best attend. To clarify and avoid any further confusion I've included the email below.
Thanks,
Bill

Subject: Monthly SFJC Meeting this Tuesday!
SFJC Members,
Just a reminder our monthly meeting is this coming Tuesday the 10th at Arrigo Chrysler Jeep Dealership and will begin at 7:30pm. This is an officer election meeting and in order to vote all dues must be current and up to date to participate! As always we will have our 50/50 along with a few raffles, so wear your SFJC shirt and receive your free ticket. Those of you that participated in the Indiantown Sunday brunch ride we cant wait to hear all about it.. Also we have a couple upcoming events to talk about such as the Meet n Greet Shelton (RockOn) has put on for us at Big City Dogs II and the Hollywood St. Pattys day parade! We hope to see you all Tuesday!

What I meant about notifying the membership (not the monthly meeting email as stated on your postings) is that when a major change comes about there should be a separate email with a different subject heading (CHANGE IMPORTANT, or something like this) at a different time from the meeting email or after a meeting to notify so we can all key on the change that took place. This is just my suggestion and you are welcome to ignore and trash it altogether if the SFJC administration thinks that it might be just a waste of time.
Nevertheless it's not a big deal, I would have like to have attended and still trying to move things around. Since tonight is a new voting administration night I would like to have 5 minutes after the meeting with the new administration to go over some things that could effect the online secure forms for new member sign up that I have to explain rather than bring them up at the meeting in case there are questions. If this is not possible let me know.
This of course if I make it tonight.

My questions are;
1). Isn't Jeep Talk an open source?
2). If not and JT is somehow better protected from outsiders hacking into the clubs forum, what if anything, can be done
to better protect sfjc's forum.
3). Jim, can you clarify what you meant by open source?

In the computer world Open Source means the software is free and developers have access to the source code that makes up the software. Generally they may be easier hacked since everyone can get access to the inner workings of the software. JT is not an Open Source forum as you have to buy the software package as well as maintenance and support.
As long as sfjcforum is kept updated with the latest security patches on a regular basis it should be fine.
