Took my doors off to go out in the Glades and someone stole them from my front yard. Found 2 sets of used ones (no, none of them were MINE) but they don't come with keys for the locks. How hard is it to change out the door locks?
I called and locksets are $72/set and to rekey them to the ignition is another $74.

call the dealership they might be able to get you lockets that match your vin

depending on the year of your jeep and if it has never been rekeyed dealers do have the ability to cut keys based on the vin. when i was in college working for car dealers if we lost keys we just cut a new one using the vin.

however if that dose not less then 150 is realy not bad a new key uncut for most new cars is much more then that these days

It's not the cost of the rekey. They want $400 to install them!

What about the tailgate key, that will cost you as well, if you want the door keys to match the ignition. The doors will be easy enough for you to change and keep the ignition and gate key. Saves money and will gives you a little extra security.

That sucks. On the new JK I bought my key does not work on the doors. I need to take them out and have them rekeyed to match my key. I'm going to look for a lock smith to see how much it would be. I have had it done in the past and it only takes a few sec to have it done.
