After weeks of searching… scouring the forums… checking every Ford Explorer in salvage yards in Broward and Palm Beach County, the elusive Ford 8.8 w/ 4:10s was located. After a brief telephone conversation with my man YJay92… it was on like Donkey Kong! If working in a junkyard isn’t pleasant enough, we had the added benefit of rain… a lot of rain. In fact when the rain broke our donor Explorer had approximately 2-3” of water under it.
I wanted to share with you guys the official “Yjay92 Inclement Weather Workstation”. Good Times.

Always a fun time when I go to the junkyard. Glad we finally found one for you and got it removed. Your YJ is gonna be badass when that axle gets installed with the DETROIT LOCKER in it!

A day in the junkyard with heat, humidity and a monsoon.......that's friendship and dedication

Looking forward to seeing this new and improved YJ out on the trail

Good looking out Jay. I know there's no way both of you guys are fitting down there. You both need a diet so you can be a "lean" 250 like me. can't wait to see it in action. Will it be ready for Jeeptober?

Been there.. done that.. Pulled my 14 bolt SOLO from under a tow truck, no clouds, no rain, summer in Fla. (90* plus), used one of those green metal garden wagons to wheel out the 500+ lb. axle (D#M drums are heavy). Real builders don't use forklifts...

Diet? I am on a diet... I am trying a new one. The Buffalo Wing & Chili Cheese Fries diet. Plus I am cutting out soft drinks all together and drinking more Guiness.

I am trying to have it ready for Jeeptober

I can imagine dragging a 14 bolt, the high quality wheel barrel from u pull it barely held the 8.8, lol.

Yeah I did. YJay92 and CrackerJack held me down and poured some purple looking Kool-Aid down my throat! The next thing I know the TJ is sold... I have grease under my fingernails and no skin on my knuckles.
