Hello please help. I recently noticed my 99 chero reving high and then idled low. The check engine light came on. Went to pepboys. They said that they got an os code and that some of the wires melted near the pcm. they redid the wires and put in new os censors. drove for about 150 miles and light came back on. went back to pepboys they cleared the code. i drove away a mile and it came back on. same os codes. can anyone help?

heard back from bepboys. they said the fuse that controls the os was bad and they replaced it. does that make sense?

It does if it solves the problem. They probably could not get a good enough reading on the error codes until the fixed the burned wires. They got a good reading after it was fixed and maybe that was the replacement code and part it gave them.

if your still throwing o2 sensor codes, pepboys may not know this, but i think your cherokee has 2 sensors. 1 on the intake, and 2nd on the exhaust header. i think its on the passenger side down near the motor mount.
