Hey guys I’m looking to buy a 4door JK soon (Jeeptoberfest) and I really think if I just get a Rubicon I will save myself a headache down the road. What do you think? I plan on doing a 1 inch body lift and 3 inch coils to run 33 maybe 35 later. I will start looking on the for sale section real soon. What do you think is a good price for a Rubi? What year should I look for? Any suggestions? I would like to buy it from the Jeep dealer and get the extended warranty with it. Do you think I will need it? It may save me a few $$$ if I buy it off a user.

I have a hard time believing it, Ruben...

I say buy a bone stock 2WD Wrangler. You know you're going to add the DynaTrac 60s and the Atlas 3 speed anyway, so I see a greater saving there...

If i had it to do over i would do just that By the cheapest Jeep i could and then put the Atlas 4 speed and Dana 60 hi pinon axles. Give it a lot of thought you would end up spending a lot less in the end.

extended warenties are a waste of money if your gonna modify the suspension or tire sizes. that gives the stealership an excuse to void the parts

Here's the way I see it Ruben. If you'll have the money later to build up , say a X, or a Sport ( axles, gears, lockers, lift, tires, wheels ) then get ether one and do so. But if you have the money now to get that one, then get it.
From the pics it seems to have a 3''lift & 34''s ( from the pics I see 315/70/17 on the tire ). And we all know about the 4:10, low TC ,44 front & rear, lockers F/R and the sway bar disconnect. Just add some bumpers and a winch and your good to go.

Ruben,
Joel has the Rubicon and has a 3.5 suspension lift and no BL and he is able to clear 37" tires with no issues what so ever. It is totally different than the TJ.

Here are some pics from the Ocala trip I took with him.

I want to start enjoying it with out putting a ton of more money in it. it later I want to put a 60 front and rear that would be much later after I pay for it. I'm thinking of running 33" on the street and 35 or 36 Off-road.

That looks great WIlly does he have stock arms and drive shafts? Does he live by me (Weston) or up your way? I would love to see the JK.

If I were to put 60s on it, it would have to have locking hubs and I don’t think they make it locking hub 60 with speed sensors. So right now the OEM 44 will do I do like the Jeep Dana 60. I can also sell the stock 44 and get some money back.

Man I love Ocala. I have so much fun every time I go.
