POR15 on Car Trailer

Never used POR15, head good things about it. Got a few questions.
My 10 year old car trailer is looking pretty bad with surface rust. From what I read POR needs a bit of rust to work. I'm also thinking that it could get a bit expensive and was toying with the idea of sand blasting and using some type of rust paint instead. What do you guys think

Wire wheel or media blast the rust...prep w/ ospho...paint w/ por-15 (or another mcu) and then topcoat (por-15 is NOT UV resistant). There are some MCUs that are UV stable and do not have to be topcoated...i like Petit Marine Trailercoat. If you do that, you will never worry about your trailer rusting again.

Many thanks for the info Dave. Now I have to find the time. Care for some free beer and pizza some weekend I'm a good supervisor and will have everything you need to show me (completely) how to do it.

Thanks for the info, we will look into this. Has anyone used or had any experience with blast-it-off.com?

I know a few who have used them. Depending on the media (sand, glass bead, soda, etc), you're looking at about $500 to have it stripped to bare metal...
