I've noticed lately that posted rides and happening events rarely are posted on the calendar so it can show up 30 days in advance on the main page toward the bottom to remind and show others quick access in case they are interested in attending.

As a moderator I sometimes make these entries even though it should be done by the member posting the event so that your event can be seen often and get more people to notice.

My question is... why is it not done more often, is it that members don't know it's there or is it something I'm missing

I like your idea on linking off the editor as your posting. I'm sure it would take a custom code modification in order to do this which is cost in man hours and not sure if enough will still use it.

if u do that i would ad the ability to put it on directly from the post. like i said when i added the Linberger event it took a few to find out where to go the less steps the more likely people are to use it

When I added that Car Show, I had the same problem. Took me a minute of deciding what needs to be filled out and what doesn't. Maybe just add some instructions for everyone?

Top right underneath your login is a "Help" Url. Click on it, 3/4 down the page click on "Calendar"

Instructions there are very explicit. :ya:

Jim, under the Happenings heading it reads Upcoming Events, under there can you put a reminder to also put the event in the calendar?
Some people just might be forgetting to put thing in the calender, even though they post up about an event.

That is a good idea :ya:
(even though the guideline link is inside each of the event forums no one seems to read them).

I'm sure this can be done and I'll check into it. We can do this to the Let's Go Wheeling forum as well.

I wonder if members actually read the forum descriptions.  :biggrin1:
We have had this for a while now and I still get a kick out of it.

We added LJrubitm and made a note on the description of two forums to add calender entries.

Thanks Tommy. :ya:
