What I don't understand is why they gave him the honor of being buried (supposedly buried at sea) within 24 hours as requested by the family. Would he and his followers have honored the same. I still remember the public be headings.

I suspect that they tossed the body to sea so that there would be no 'official' spot for a monument or otherwise for mourners (and activists) to gather. glad he's gone!

I would have rather seen a public burn on the deck of the ship followed by a sweep of the ashes overboard.
