Since I run the JOM contest some of you have inquired as to why we might have such low voting with so many topic views as well as visitors. Rather than to answer and post on a voting entry, vote or winning topic. I went to the support section in the event of any feedback.

Regarding the voting, there are a few things that come to mind.

1. If a member has not been registered for 30 days or have at least a post count of 5, the board will not let them vote, it's automatic with a message.

We did this because in the past a member up for vote will get all their family, friends, (worldwide) double/triple registrations from same member just to get votes rather than to have a meaningful win coming from their peers. These new so called member registrations were never to be seen again.

2. We could try and lower the post count to say 3, to help the lurkers that don't post much. Keep in mind that there are forums that you post such as the off topic forums, for sale, etc that your post count does not increase. This was done for post mongers.

3. Members go and come all the time, they just don't care to participate for some reason, some lurk for information, some visit and are not even registered. I looked last week and JT is getting on an average of 1200 different IP hits on a daily basis. These are from different locations so if you visit JT 4 times from the same location it only counts as one. Some members just don't have the need or the time to go and look at the JOM.

4. I do see an exceptional positive with the votes that are up for vote receive...
Those who win are from their peers and they are truly quality votes :good2:

Any suggestions are always welcome. :ya:
