I have gotten a replacement jeep for CrackerJack (YES it is another "rare" red YJ). Before I sell it I want to swap some things out of it and put on the wife's jeep. I will be swapping out the lift, axles, tires, seat belts. I could use some assistance if anyone can help out either or both days. I'll probably need a couple jack stands as well. Obviously food and drinks will be provided. I'll spray all the bolts down w/ penetrating lube this whole week so hopefully it will go smoothly :nervous:

Thanks

Are you saying that you don't want a 4" RC lift, front and rear axles w/ truetracks & 4.10 gears, & 5 new 35" MTZs on your jeep? If so, I'm sure there are plenty here that will love to take them off your hands. ;)

Was thinking that once we finish up for the day Sat afternoon, if anyone wants to go we can do a little wheeling trip to a spot close by the house.

I still think something is robbing power from you. I would think your 4.0 should have enough power to allow you to have a 5th gear on the highway w/ 33s. Even with your smaller tires you didn't really have 5th. Maybe you can look into boosting your HP instead of gears?

Up until last year about this time I was wheeling with 3.07 up in Ocala and down here and it was no big deal. Don't let that stop you from doing some rocks in Ocala

I was able to use my 6th gear also with 3.07 and 35's. I also pulled the popup one summer to TN running 33's and 3.07.

I agree with Jack on this one.

Willy, you've got me wondering now if maybe i'm just not using enough skinny pedal  i'll do a few runs on the turnpike and see if i notice a difference. do you by any chance remember (more or less) what speeds and RPMs you were running in 5th gear on the 3.07s?

Jack, still planning on hitting the local spot saturday after wrenching?
also, 38.5" BOGGERS??? good lord!

65 or 70
5th somewhere in the 2400 to 2600
6th somewhere in the 2000 to 2200

6th was not all the usable for acceleration but It would maintain speeds on the highway.

Jack make sure to take some pics during the wrenching party and most important when you test it out

Is there any other way to roll? Yup Jorge, I'll be heading out to one of two places depending if we get some rain or not.
The reason I was saying you're losing power is because my new YJ has 4.10s and 38.5 w/ a 4.0, CJack has 4.10s, 35s, and the 4.2. The one with the 4.0 and larger tires will blow the doors off my 4.2 w/ 35s. Both jeeps have the same gearing. I think you should be able to run 70 in 5th w/ the 33s. I may be wrong (wouldn't be the first time).

To get back on topic this is what I'd like to get done listed in order of priority:

Swap lift, axles, tires between CJack & CJill
Swap hard top and soft top between CJack & CJack II
Cut fenders on CJack II for TJ flares
Swap seats between CJack & CJack II
Change seat belts from CJack and CJill

Of course this is depending on time and how many people show up. The main thing for me is the lift and axles. If we can get to some of the other things, great, if not its not big deal. Thanks again everyone.

I don't know much about any of this stuff; but if you need to borrow a couple of jack stands, PM me your address and I'll try to swing by after work today with them. If I get a chance,(translation: my wife doesn't think of something for me to do) I'll go by tomorrow and help. Maybe I'll learn something.
