I'm taking some Personal Wrenching Days off at work next Monday and Tuesday. Anyone in the Kendall area that's bored and willing to lend a hand is more than welcome. I'll also be working on the Jeep on this Saturday or Sunday.

Planning to...
  • Center rear axle and weld in perches
  • Center tub on the frame & torque down body bolts
  • Wire up steering column and start up motor (using the key this time)
  • Install CJ dash
  • Trim and install new trans hump cover
  • Install B&M shifter base
  • Install OX Locker lever

If i can get the pitman arm reamed out in time, i'd also like to get the 1ton DOM draglink and tierod installed.

Thanks to CrackerJack and hartke20g for coming by to help. Unfortunatly i couldn't take advantage of the offer between my heat exaustion on Monday and the rain on Tuesday.

  • Center rear axle and weld in perches
got as far as centering the axle but never welded the perches

  • Center tub on the frame & torque down body bolts
    got this done

  • Wire up steering column and start up motor (using the key this time)
got the ignition wired up and cranked the motor just fine, but couldn't keep it running

  • Install CJ dash
did not fully install the dash but i got to test fit it with a few bolts (the ones that actually line up) also got the Volt guage working. Probably going to build a new dash or order a custom dash

  • Trim and install new trans hump cover
i actually got this done and it came out fine considering i didn't have a stock on to use as a template

  • Install B&M shifter base
Just need to trim the cover to fit the curves better but right now it shifts just fine

  • Install OX Locker lever
i'm just stuck on where to install this. I'll have to seach the web for idea first.

sorry I wasn't able to actually help you out with anything but glad to see you got some of the jobs scratched off the list. You're going to have one bad a## jeep once it is complete. I work close by so if you need an extra set of hands one afternoon, just let me know.
