How many of you use the SideBar for reference  Do you minimize it or leave it open

It has been communicated to me by Admin that we can have a Poll window custom modification of JOM or any other current Poll (only 1 though) show up on the sidebar like we have on the Portal. How many of you JT members think this is a good idea and would like to have this

At first I though I would not use the SideBar and keep it minimized (you can also minimize the individual boxes), but I noticed lately that I have been referring to the SideBar more and more.

Another question is should we get rid of the Status Replies  These are basically daily thoughts or short bursts of information.

I like the status replies. As a social media junkie I think it's fun and a great way to put out blurbs to remind people of stuff like meetings or events that someone might not see if they do not click on the topic. At least here they have a better chance of seeing it when they go to the homepage.

I think having a poll box could be nice too. Especially with JOM once you have cast your vote you won't always have to go to the portal or the topic to see the latest results.

So you are actually confirming that some of you actually use the SideBar and don't minimize it... :biggrin1: We were talking about removing it since we see that rare updates so go ahead and prove me wrong.

Regarding the Poll on the sidebar, I can see the usefulness especially more on the voting aspect.:good: I was doing some testing on it (Mr.Admin had it working at another location) and I noticed that once a member logs on to JT, did not vote as yet, they can vote right on the sidebar (similar to the Portal), but our concern was... how can you vote without looking at the pictures. There is a link on top of the box to go directly to the voting topic though similar to the Portal. Shame we don't have more input on this from other Members, maybe they don't really need to use it.
