My Cobra all in one CB finally took a dump after all these years (could not wait to ge rid of it, side buttons did not hold the settings very well). Finally an excuse to install my Midland portable which is a combination of in cab CB and take it with you when you are out of the vehicle. Was using the Midland on the RV which I sold a few years back.

Took late Sunday to finish the install, connections are good, weather channel is receiving but.... I need someone to stop by with a working CB to test range and maybe tune with my SWR meter if needed. I'm in the Davie, Fl area, if you are near the area and have a working CB would appreciate the hand. Should not take to long. :ya:

Glad to see you're fixed up. A couple weeks ago I was back researching and checking out what I wanted...was going to go to a local to see what they had and how much to install etc. Well, that got put on the back burner like usual :click: I also was searching for a local HAM class. I think I'll save that for a year that is not too busy! Would like to check your's out at the next meeting definately!

Sounds good Tom, thank you. I'm in between Flamingo and Knob Hill off Griffin. Let me know when and I'll PM my address.

Gutsy, having owned both units I would purchase the Midland over the Cobra if you want an all in one. Do a search here on JT (CB) there should be topics with pictures and what different people use. Start a topic in the Electronic forum if you don't find what you are looking for. :ya:

A big thanks to LJRubiTM coming over today and help to make sure my communications were up to par. :good:

I was impressed with the range of the Midland portable unit when I removed the head from the Jeep going portable. No need for tuning on the Jeep as well.

I should have switched to the Midland for the Cobra all in one 4 years ago when I removed it from the RV. Should have sold the Cobra before it took a dump on me. I was always fighting with the Cobra knobs and adjustments.
