Just picked up a 8.8 for my TJ.:D Got it for $300. While tearing it down I noticed that the brake calipers were not on there :amazed: Guess I should have paid more attention while loading it.
Now I need to order several parts and read more write ups.

Congrats Bevis! :drive:

Calipers should be easy to find, usually from a Ford Explorer. This is what I have on my rear axle. :amazed:

Bevis,

When I ordereded my axle for the rear, I requested the Explorer brake setup instead of the Cadillac. Everyone I know that went with the Cadillac does not have an e brake and are always having problem adjusting them.

You can probably search around the junk yards for the caliper. Dutchman, Currie sell the complete setups and I don't know if they will piece it out, you might try the Ford dealer. Do you have all the other brackets, is it just the calipers that were missing?

Jim,

Going kinda slow, since I have been working alot of OT at work and taking a college class. I have all the old explorer brackets cut off, getting ready to order the new bracket kit from MORE, still searching around for gears (4.88) and Locker (ARB or OX). No pics yet.

Bevis,

I know how that is, it's been over a week and I still don't have my front put together yet.

With regards to the gears and lockers, give Ruben's 4x4 a call which is listed here and check out his prices.

Let us know when you get the More brackets, how thick they are and what you think of them.

as far as installation, what are your plans? DIY, or take it to a pro?
