I use to have a program that I could scan a document and it would put into office word. then I could make changes to the document, I cant find it and don't remember the name of the program.
Anyone know what I can use and can I get a copy for free.
Thanks in advance
mike

Was it something that came with your scanner? I am not aware of such a program. You can download Open Office for free. It will open any MS Office product, Word, Excel, etc.

if you want to scan text and then be able to edit it, you will need an OCR (optical character recognition) program that will convert the document to text. check out Free OCR for a list of free options. remember, you get what you pay for and sometimes the free apps don't do the best jobs (i.e. "r" + "n" gets converted to "m", etc).
