I told them that I was part of the JeepTalk and that we could help as a group or individual (depending on what each member desides).
They are able to give us a DISASTER TRAINIG in our facilities, but we've got to be at least 12 members assisting so they can come to us (at least 15 years old).
The first and "a most class" is an Introduction to the Red Cross and they've got to make a BackGround Check to be part of the RED CROSS VOLUNTEERS
Some of their clases are:
- Introduction to Disaster Services
- Mass Care
- Community Disaster Education
- Shelters Operations / Simulations
- Disaster Action Team
- Defensive Driving
- Psychological First Aid
Other courses available:
- CPR, AED & First Aid Courses
- Emergency Response/First Responder
- Family Caregiving
- HIV Prevention Instruction
- Instructor Training Courses: CPR, AED, First Aid, Babysitting
- Pet First Aid
- Sport Safety Training
- Aquatics Training: Lifeguard/WSI Information
- Nursing Assistant Program Information
- Health & Safety Training Programs for Boy Scouts
- AED (Automated External Defibrillator) Information
I think this is an excellent way to do something for our Community and be prepare when the time comes.... Please let me know if you are interested to make a list and set a date for the first meeting. Please send time availability for the clases.
Depending on the ammount of volunteers we've got to determine the place to meet.

That's excellent, the idea is to be active and support our community. You never know, but if a disaster comes to Broward, maybe or fore sure the people of Dade are going to be able to help or Viceversa.
