If you don't fight for the trails, there won't be any trails to fight for.
What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals.
Zig Ziglar
"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling that thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself." ....

Do you have the XP operatiing system as a separate disc yourself? If so click here.
If not, click here.
I would suggest getting a dual core, 2 gigs ram, big a hard drive as you can afford, and, if you're a gammer, a good video card.
XP will not see more than 2.5 GIGs, so if you are going w/ XP, don't go crazy on the RAM.
If you don't fight for the trails, there won't be any trails to fight for.

The upgrade won't get you the operating system.
Compare specs as i ahve found Tigerdirect to be the less expensive all around. You can get a decent tower starting at $350 or so.
XP pro machines

As for the dual harddrives, you have to have one as the slave, and one as the master. If you look on the harddrive there is a picture (generally) of where the jumper needs to go to make it a slave. The jumper prongs are on the rear of the harddrive next to where the cables go.
All the programs that I have are on the C drive, with the secondary harddrive as my data storage. MOst virasus' a and trojans work on the C drive. I canreplace the softwware, I may not be able to replace the data.
If you don't fight for the trails, there won't be any trails to fight for.

Look at the capacitors near the CPU and see if they are bulging. They should be flat on the top. I have had MB fried on me with the same symptoms.

I'll let some one look @ it but then they will have access to all my info & I'm real anal about that, that is why I usually buy a new one. I'm like Ian, I have never bought a re-furbished one but times are hard and they should be ok after the factory tune up.

I can get your stuff off your HD if you need or you can get yourself an adapter for either IDE to USD or SATA to USB depending on what type of HD you have.
I have this one but it is for SATA drives.
http://www.compusa.com/applications/Search...&CatId=2785
This one is USB to both EIDE/IDE or SATA
http://www.compusa.com/applications/Search...&CatId=3770
All you do is remove you HD from your fried PC and connect it to your new PC and copy your stuff out.

those devices I linked do not require the old PC at all just the HD
Like I said in the past Admin we need a special forum just for Rollbar's techsupport
By the way it looks like your HD are IDE because of the wide ribon cable so you need the IDE interface I linked above

Also, there was something CHOKING the PC down for the internet speed, ay the modem it was 6.0 but @ the PC it was 1.5-3.0. Would this be in the HD or on the PC it's self. I don't want to contminate anything new.

When I turn it on, nothing, fans run etc. but I can't see anything & not sure if it's up to the loging or not, my son is in there and I will fire it up and let it sit for 5min & he will listen.
I need to change my screen name.

yeah but the OS will not boot without many errors because your existing PC it not the same hardware. You can use the HD as a secondary HD on the E-Machine. As long as the E-Machine is running XP you will be ok.
I am off to dinner so will most likely not respond as frequent if at all tonight. Wedding Anniversary Dinner. 14 Years Married. Goblin, his wife, my wife and I are going to Chart-House restaurant in Miami.

Nope the ZENN still works and doesn't small.
The PC window popped up and said overload on teh USB port, everything froze then I was able to close it out & then upon re-start all the fans kicked on max & then nothing.
Thanks for all the help.
