Another new guy. Not new to turning wrenches, wheelin' or Jeeps.

Started with a '70 GTO had fun then converted...

to a 78 Blazer had fun then converted...

to a string of family cars... that wasn't so much fun... then converted...

to a Porsche 911 had fun then converted...

to a '89 Bronco lifted with 33's and stayed 4X4 after that.

97 TJ lifted with 33's

01 F250 Super Duty Diesel lifted with 35's

I've had my eye on the 4 door JK's since I first saw them and pulled the trigger last year. I promised the MRS that I would at least make a good faith effort to wear out the stock rubber before putting real tires on it. Stayed away from the forums 'cause I knew they would make me break my promise.

Summer project will be a 4" Rancho sport lift and 35's. I'm going to break out the welder and fab front and rear semi-stubby bumpers something like the XRC's but a little different. A snorkel, Superchips FlashPak, and home built CAT back will also be going on... DANG FORUMS

The new jeep is an '09 JK 4 door with the freedom top, S package, e locker in the back and swaybar disco. It's a good start and I look forward to turning it into something fun

Hi. I joined the forum because I like jeeps. I'm looking to get one some time in the future. I currently drive a Corolla like it's got all wheel drive. :biggrin1: I'm just here to meet cool people. I've read the posts on here through my boyfriend and this seems like a place to do that.

Hey folks,

My name is Kelly and I'm a Yankee. :biggrin1:

I am the founder of a program named JeepSkool. We have been busy making a difference in the Jeeping world, and can be seen in the 2009 Petersen's Ultimate Adventure coverage. We hope to make a few FLA friends and keep spreading the word about SAFE-LEGAL-FUN for FAMILY type Jeep events. Kinda like Festivus for the Rest of us.

We have recently lost our co-founder and a great trail leader to your awesome FLA weather and they are looking to find other like minded Jeepers. We hope that this will be the group to welcome them with open arms and help them find a few LEGAL wheeling ares. If you think you may be able to help, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your time,

-Kelly

Hello, My friends call me "Burks".
Started with a 77 CJ-7 shortly after moving to Colorado. At present it is basicly the same except for a new frame, fiberglass body, seats, Slightly modified 360 AMC enngine, rims, tires, 3" lift, dash, bumpers, and the last change electric radiator fans out of a 98 Mercury Mystique. The fans fit great and I have thank a post on this site for leading me to them.

Since the addition of the new top, forgot that in the list, I have been driving it more and enjoying it. At present my son has his eye on it. I'm thinking he needs his own project.

I am glad to be here and enjoy reading the posts, and learning from the other members.

Thanks

Burks

New to jeeptalk, was referred here by a friend, Mean Max. uh I like Jeepforum, working on jeeps, wheeling, and stickers. I had a 93 YJ, and was in an accident and insurance totaled it. I currently drive a 97 TJ Sahara. Getting used to it, its got a 3" BL :2thumup: but hopefully by the end of this year will be removed and lifted properly. I live in Stuart, florid.

Heres a pic of my old Jeep, You might have seen me at Corbitt once, I went on a 4 wheel parts hosted ride on 1/17/10 :

Hello, I'm a recovering jeep-a-holic and I've come to this site to help cure my addiction of mud, fun and good friends(JK). Being a South Florida native I've been lucky enough to have grown up here and having ventured out into one the most wonderful places I've ever been too, The Everglades. I graduated from Swamp University at the grand old age of 7 while riding across the everglades on a ATC 90 (you know the really old three wheeler with no front rim just a balloon tire molded around a spindle) tagging behind a fulltrack my dad built and yes Atc's really do float! I've been in the swamp ever since ,slept many night in a stuck truck or a broken airboat you learn a lot when you have a little to work with, while it may have sucked at the time, there were lessons learned from all my adventures past and that have helped in present. One thing that really gets me people who trash the places they play in. I always pack out what I packed in ,no trash left behind. You can tear up grass and make all the ruts you want, it will grow back stronger than it was before, and with time the ruts fill in, (there's nothing like stepping on a broken bottle that cuts through your shoe while hooking up a strap), trash and garage stay forever. Riding down a senic trail and seeing broken bottles or cans is kinda like driving through the county landfill. And no I'm not a tree hugger ,I want our public lands just for that public use ,but the public needs to do it's best to keep it clean. And as always I'm looking forward in meeting new friends in the off-road community.

Don't knock the tree huggers. I am a very proud hugger of trees. If it weren't for people like me there wouldn't be places like Everglades National Park or Corbett. LOL
