I inherited my 87 YJ from my brother in August of 2008. He LOVED his Jeep. His wife tried to get him to sell it but he wouldn't give in. After he passed I let her now that I would like to keep it in the family, and she agreed that he would have liked that as well. Shortly after that it embarked on a LONG journey from Honolulu to Tampa.
He had made some improvements, such as a Jasper engine, Holley 4 barrel, Clifford 6=8 intake, Cliford header, Rhino lined the tub, and installed Bestop trailmax sport seats. I have only done minor upgrades since I have had it such as rebuild the carburetor and clean it up a bit.
I haven't done much wheeling yet but it I would like to in the near future. I'am currently in search of an Ax-15 to replace the Peugeot (which of course is on its last leg) so I can head out to the woods soon. I'am excited to be a part of your community and look forward to corresponding with you all.
Until then, Ben
P.s. I'am a newbie to posting as well so please bear with me.

Btw, if you are looking for an ax15 post up on the wanted jeep section.
You've got a good truck there, the only real downer is the square headlights but you can now get a kit to go round.

I'm new to the Jeep world, I recently bought an 89 YJ fully stock w/o any modifications to it. Here with in the last few weeks I've rhino lined the tub and added 31's w/ the new Rubicon rims (the 4" rough country suspension lift is on its way w/ 33's) I am located in Cape Coral, Fl and work as a medic. I hope to see ya'll in the trails.

If you don't fight for the trails, there won't be any trails to fight for.
What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals.

The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself." ....

A bit about me, I'm an Afghanistan vet (Air Force) and still serving up at McChord. I'm on my first jeep, an '88 Wrangler, its a good vehicle over all but there are some minor issues with it (I'll post about those later). I'm not very mechanically inclined. I'm capable of doing most of it, and I've done a small amount of maintenance on up armored HMMWVs (the ultimate jeep from hell?), but I don't really have any desire to do it often.
Aside from that, I'm a gun guy, I'm very thick skinned, more than likely think I'm better than you even if confronted with evidence suggesting otherwise.
Hope to be a thorn in y'alls side for a long long time.
