My name i chris, i live in south Fl (originally from NY though). I found South Florida Jeep club through Facebook, and that lead me here.
My Jeep is a 95 TJ unlimited, some body armor mods, looking now at a real lift kit...currently has a 3' body lift.
I'm hoping to meet some people to go hit the trails with, I am new to the florida off road environments (sand and all), but used to drive off the beaten path quite a bit back in NY...Where they actually have mountains to climb

i figured that now is as good a time as any to introduce myself. ive been cruising around a bit, and have seen some of y'alls jeeps at towers and cruising around broward.
im new to the jeep thing, from an ownership stand point but not new to wheeling, fabricating and wrenching, its what i do for a living, sort of. my primary wheeling vehicle of choice has been a sas'd fullsize bronco for the last several years, but has since been replaced with my dd 98 zj. i have begun tweaking the zj, and am still looking for parts, and gathering crap for the build. afterwards i will look forward to seeing how capable it actually is.
i havent done much to the zj as of the moment, other than a post purchase clean up and tune. im looking for a 242 or 231 at the moment, and am building my long arm kit now. we'll see how this all boils down. and likely will get out of control, much like the bronco did.
anyhow. heres my intro. and look forward to seeing some of y'all around.
cheers,
jason aka the smokewrench.

Name is Jeannie. Vistited this site a few times and finally signed up. My husband and I own a black 2005 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited just has meaty 31's on it. We do a lot of riding out at Corbett with the top and doors off (most of the time). We would love to hook up with a group and go sometime.

Welcome everybody!!! Check the under happenings or the let's go wheeling part on this forum so you can find out about all the local events and wheeling trips. I also recomend you go to any of the South FLorida Jeep Club meetings (If you haven't yet) so you can see whats the club all about.

I'm diggin' this 'Jeep Thing'!
Everyone here seems to know what they are talking about and are friendly so I figured I'd join up.
I've never owned one but I have fond memories of riding in my Dad's friend's CJ all over Mississippi as a child. It was a Renegade I think.
I've decided it's time to buy that memory!
I actually don't own a Jeep yet but I'm in the market (82-86 CJ7 / 76-till CJ5).
Looking for mechanically sound, drivable rig. It doesn't have to be pretty or fancy just work and not a rust bucket!
I'm up in the Panhandle region of FL but will drive just about anywhere in the SE for a good Jeep at a good price!
I figured this would be a good place to be if I had any questions.
I was also hoping that someone could point me in the right direction for finding a good Jeep.
I'm not soliciting a sale or anything but I've found that if you want the best quality you should go to the place where people care about their craft.
And everyone seems to care here!
At the very least I'm hoping I could pick some brains when it comes time for decisions/issues that may arise during my quest for good Jeep.
Thanks!

Btw Phil, CJs are always nice. Many guys around here own them. Feel free to ask all you wants in the Tech section. There is also a Wanted section if your looking for something... and the rest of the forum of course. Pick all the brains you want.

New to the Jeep thing!
I'm about to buy my first Jeep! Woo Hooo! (he says now...)
I'm looking at a 68 CJ with the Dauntless v6 engine.
Anybody have general advice on any potential (well, common) Gotchas to look out for when I go inspect it this weekend?
Thanks For all the help and Advice.

Succumbed to the lure (well, and a substantial discount on an 08), bringing home our new Wrangler in a few days. Looking forward to learning my way around the thing here, the mods list has already been started.
