Hey Everyone - found this place a week or so ago and looks like a great site. Had a '75 CJ-5 back in the early 80s but marriage and young kids put a stop to my Jeepin and after being Jeepless for about 25 years, found a '95 YJ with / 4-cyl /5 - spd /2.5 lift & 32" Pro Comp Mudders. All I have done so far is add an Airaid cold air intake and throttle body spacer. I live in Pueblo, Colorado, and retired a little over a year ago from the US Army after spending 26 years touring the globe, so my YJ will be my friend, consume my time and drain my retirement checking account ! Glad to be here !

Hi. My name is Curtis, and I just got myself a 2008 X last month. Live in Dania Beach, and am totally new to this jeep thing, if you don't count the Cherokee my parents had back in the 80s. Right now it is my DD, along with 2 motorcycles that are beginning to feel neglected.

I found this board through the South Florida Jeep Club page, and joined the board, but schedule never allowed me to get a post up, since the holidays were busy for us.

I did manage to procure many of the mandatory and suggested items for offroading, but am still a noob.

I am also a HAM operator, and am getting my RCI-2950 back into shape. Am either going to install it or a Cobra into the jeep next week sometime.

Hoping to meet some people with more experience than I have, who can show me the ropes, so to speak, and give me an idea of what and what not to do. Perhaps some kind of off road driving course, or suggestions for those of us who are new to wheeling would be great.

I have taken the online CERT training courses and am in the process of certifying as an ares/races operator. I may be manning shelters and providing communications for the Broward County EOC if the needs dictate. I still need the on site training to become fully CERT certified, but once that happens, the jeep may play a major role in trasnporting gear and/or teams into disaster areas for rescue and recovery efforts. In the meantime I am occupying my time with reading up on direction finding and radio tracking for tracking radio signals to their source.

Anyway, just wanted to say hello, and introduce myself.

Hi everyone,

I joined back in November and have been lurking ever since. I was looking through some pics from a previous ride at Corbett (6/21/08) when I realized I was looking at my jeep (actually, the jeep I ended up purchasing about a month and a half ago). It looks like it belonged to "gunslinger" before I had the good fortune to acquire it. I've built my jeep up quite a bit since I purchased it. I hunt Snipe (no jokes please) at Corbett during hunting season and decided I needed a way to get back to some of the more inaccessible areas. I haven't introduced myself until this time because I've been so focused on the hunting....but would like to eventually meet up with some of you out there one of these days. It's pretty incredible having seen both pictures and video of my jeep on this website. There's still some additions I'd like to make to my LJ before I deem it completely trail ready (will I ever stop building?).
-2004 LJ - 1" BL, 5.5 RE extreme duty long arm kit, magnaflow catback, ARB snorkel, Pro-comp 35's, 16 x 10 pro-comp series 8179 xtreme alloy rims. Warn 9.5Ti winch and rear bumper with tailgate. Front/rear Detroit Truetracs with 4.88 gears.

Hey Guys! I bought my first Jeep (Red, 06 TJ Unlimited) about 4 months ago and love it. I'm installing Skyjacker's 4" lift this wednesday and can't wait to get it out on some trails. I've looking over the forum for about a week now and I've seen a ton of awesome pictures from Corbett. I live in Jupiter Florida (about 20 minutes North East of Corbett) and I hope to get out on the next trip and meet some fellow South Florida Jeepers!
