I got this web site from a guy on a fishing web site that I belong to. I asked a question about a roof rack for my jeep and he referred me here. I got my question answered but saw this was a cool site and enjoy reading the information and know there are people on this site that can answer questions I may have. I look forward to having this as a site for information and to chat with others. I will gladly share any info that I have although iy is limited. I have an 05 TJ that I have added a few things to such as 31 inch tires, slotted rims and bushwacker fenders. I really got it to tow behind my motorhome four wheels down and have towed it 18,000 miles with no problem. Its easy to tow and a blast to drive. I needed the rack so I can carry two kayaks. I recently started doing some kayak fishing.
Glad to be here and look forward to chatting.

Just picked up an 08 JK. First non-Bronco 4x4, so it should be different. I'd like to get in on a GTG around here. I'm in Fort Lauderdale.

My name is Bill & I'm a recovering jeep-a-holic.
I moved down from DC 4 years ago and have not wheeled my TJ since.
I was a member of Off Camber Crawlers and used to go on at least one major event each month.
I wheeled Paragon, Rausch Creek, Big Dogs, Gore, GW Nat Forest, West Va around the New River Gorge.
The most experience I have with sand is the Outer Banks NC.
I tried to always stay out of mud because of the environmental impact and I learned that once all the full-sized rigs on boggers showed up to screw around.... the trails were closed shortly thereafter.
I've almost always wheeled in a group and always found it fun to change shafts and u-joints under the moonlight.
I don't really know the rules of this board, but I'm looking at it as a way to meet new friends and get out on some trails again (even if I have to run my jeep through some slop and don't get to chance a rollover on the side of a mountain)
BTW is it even possible to break axle shafts in Florida?

Welcome!!!!!
hmm the Outer Banks, NC I have wheeled there and it is awesome. I had a chance to go there twice in 2007 and I loved it.
since you are in West Palm Beach your closest wheeling spot will be JW Corbett which is north west county.
Northlake BLVD and Seminole Pratt Whitney.
I tend to wheel there often, infact I just got back from there today.
You will enjoy lurking arround here in JeepTalk. A bunch of great people here.

Bill Got any wheeling pics of these areas Do share them on the Let's go wheeling area when you get a chance.
From what I have seen over the years you can break just about anything anywhere you wheel in any part of the country. It all depends how hard you want to take it to on any trail. Takes a bit to get used to in all different kinds of terrain even in one rocky place from another... one muddy place to another.
I hope you recover soon!

I just purchased a 1999 Jeep Wrangler Sport, and I am in the process to get it back into good running order and appearance.
It dosen't need a lot of work put finding the small parts are whats being a challenge. For instance the small oblong floor plugs, i cannot find on any websites. If anyone has an idea of where I can find them that would be great help.
Thanks
Hulsh

P.S. Leave the floor plugs out, no need to use them. Just put a rubber floor mat down. Haven't used any in my Jeeps since I've owned Jeeps. It helps when the windshield leaks & when snow/H20 get inside from your feet

Hi all,
I was just told about this site so I thought I would check it out.
A little about my Jeep.
1992 Wrangler 6cyl 136K on it auto, 31s on Rubicon rims and a M.O.R.E. 5/8 shackle lift. I made some custom front and rear bumpers with a winch mount and a swing out tire carrier and 2 gas cans etc. Custom amo can lockakable center console. Herculiner the tub and some other minor things.
I am currently working on paint and body etc.
I have rebuilt the head, new water pump, new brakes (all 4 complete parts) shocks misc engine parts etc.
I just resolved and overheating issue I think. When I take it out this weekend I guess I'll find out.
Current issue is a non working 4x4 dash light. It was working but now it is not. The Jeep does go into 4wd just no dash light.
Bad fuel gage. But I guess this is normal for a wrangler.
This will be my 4th heep… Jeep that is. I have owned 2 CJ7 and a GW. Before this Wrangler. I seem to be working on the wrangler more than any other Jeep I owned before. But that’s ˝ the fun the tell me.
Well thats it for now.

welcome!! gotta love the 92 YJs. the 4wd light runs off of a sensor under the battery tray. they are as notorious for going bad as the fuel guages are. again...welcome
