Sot and Rob :biggrin1: to JT Hope you will have fun around here.

Sot, nice pair of TJs there. :1baby: We hope you post up on the calendar and lets go wheeling section some of the stuff you guys are doing. I know there are a lot of Jeepers from our area that also travel up and it would be good to know some of your spots and events.

Rob, yes a lot of people around here from S. FL, check out some of the schedule rides and events that are coming up soon. For example there is a 3 day camp out/ride over at Lu's Place. From stock to whatever Jeep will be there. Check out the southfloridajeepclub.org local club too. :byesad: Every other Friday quite a few meet at the Tower Shops in Davie, stop by and say hello.

Hello everyone, I am on several Jeep sites so why not one more? Everyone knows me by the name Crafty and I wheel a 93 YJ every chance I get. It was my daily driver for over 3 years. I finally picked up a tow vehicle for out of state wheelin trips and when the Jeep is broke, the truck spends 90% of it's time parked in the driveway. I LOVE MY JEEP :banghead:

Kevin,

:gun: to JT. I see we share the same tire passion among other things. :good:

Have a question that might need to go to the tech section if it gets too long of a discussion.

How wide are you and what is your wheelbase? How is that D44 holding up to the 38" tires :photo:

It is holding up great so far. I do a TON of extreme wheeling too. Before I switched to chromoly axles and CTM's I was breaking axles/ujoints. But not anymore. The reason it works in my case is because I have an automatic, my gear ratio is not ridiculously low adding unnecessary torque to everything, and I drive with a fair amount of finesse rather than jamming on the gas and bouncing. The weakest link right now is the hubs. I do break them occasionally, but I'm ok with that. They're cheap. I imagine I will go to a 60 one of these days, but this combo is working great!!

I am 81" to the outside of the tires. Wheelbase is 104".

That is exactly where you want to be, hubs are the way and easy to replace. I like your wheelbase, wish I was there but I do ok. 81 is a bit too wide for me but it all has to do with your preference, where you wheel and what is best for you.

Now get you and your guys out there to start entering some JOM shots and once in a while post up your wheeling schedules along with pics of the trips you take on the Lets go wheeling section. :2thumup:

Unfortunately it seems as the days pass the places to off road become less and less. Other than that we used to make the trek out to Suburban Estates in Holopaw. My friend owns a plot out there, and I have been considering purchasing one as well. There's some serious off road action out there, but it's a bit of a drive to just head out for the day.
