Most every time I send or reply to a e-mail I get the above. I add their names to the addy book but........... I'm working on my L-top (only vista machine) & I pull my messages to Outlook from my web mail. Any clues? I do have some of you on here and they work??????????
Thanks,

Is this a new machine and new outlook email configuration or was this working before and all of the sudden it stopped?
Also what version of outlook are you using? Who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider) and is the email you are using from the ISP or some other email like gmail or yahoo mail?
Here is some good info on the error. It may be in Chinese to you but it may help.

You mean you pull your messages from your server not your webmail to Outlook.

Did you create new personalities or accounts to send from If you did, more than likely you did not configure your SMTP ports correctly. If you have or are trying to send from your sever and have another ISP to connect, more than likely they will not let you relay unless you set your ports correctly that your server company has assigned to you.
If it is the same account you are sending through and you just added, than it could be you are not in the whitelist of the person you are sending to. Also Check this knowledge base. Look at the Configure Outlook Stuff

Not a new L-Top but I hardly use it. About 2yrs old.
Bright-house Network is my ISP for now.
I'm using regular outlook 2003
Everything goes into my web mail & then it sends it to my outlook-pulling into outlook

No, I just added some people like I did the others. I can send to U Jim & Joe and just a few other but no one else.
I tried to reply to a friend in Iraq or ? (covert op, flys the choppers Sikorsky, if that how U spell it) but it bounced back. I replied on my regular web mail w/no problem.

I send through outlook but like I stated, when I use my web mail (no white list involved) it's fine. It has to be a Vista thing.
Sometimes I work on my L-top & watch TV, I turn the other PC off & my L-top is configured to receive all e-mails like my PC tower.

Worldoversea is my e-mail/web hosting etc.
I'll get my L-top out tonight & see how Joe & Jim are set up. I just wanted to reply & got the message. I did try to send a e-mail to some not in my book & I got another message like it won't allow. I'll have to post it tonight as well.

Well there you go. Tell Jim to fix his stuff, Don't blame Vista blame Jim
All kidding aside
If you are using the worldoverseas SMTP server to send your email and it is set to use the standard port 25 then that could be you issue. Some ISP block port 25 for any other server except their own.

Me too. Had the Omega Alpha Launcher ISP with a 28 port bi directional turbo boost liquify option, was slow as hell but then I upgraded to the nitrogen base uni directional hardware and it was fast as light speed, all is working fine now.
Willy, Rollbar's server has private smtp ports to send out and it works fine with any ISP. Me thinks Rollbar needs Vista night classes on basic configuration. But what is strange is that he mentions that he is using the same account and some work and some don't... I'm not even going to ask.

Alright, give me a few & I'll fire up the Vista and send U all the past codes.
P.S. If U see this, then take my Jeeps & use the money to burry me, the rest can be split up to pay for my hosting & maybe a snatch block.

I hear you and yes it could be because of Vista's new security features but almost 100% of all residential ISP block that port to prevent spam.

OK so then he is not using Port 25. Now it could be how it is configured in outlook. Yes it is very strange that it happens on some addresses.

I did look under security and it is maxed out for web sites only. ............

I'm lost..... Are you getting through
I gave you a step by step link above.
The error, "553 sorry, that domain isn't in my list of allowed rcpthosts (#5.7.1)", means that you are trying to send email using the wrong smtp server.
Smtp related errors may have different numbers and slightly different wording, eg, "Relay access denied for...", but are all related to the same problem.
The smtp server that you use to send email is not determined by who hosts your email, but rather is a service of your Internet connection provider. All ISP's provide their customers with smtp servers, regardless of their email address.
One of the most important reasons for doing this is so spammers cannot connect to an unauthorized smtp server and use it to send mountains of spam. Occasionally, spammers find these "open" systems and flood them with mail. These systems are known as "open relays" and are the result of careless configuration by the operator.

Yeah but in some cases they will even block your email if it is not their email service that is why I was unable to host my email server and had to move it to google apps. Google provides alternate SMTP ports to avoid this altogether

Unfortunately yes you are correct there is only but a few that do this. What ISP do you have?
It is weird that Rollbar states that he can send from all XP machines and not the one Vista on the same ISP.
Rollbar, set up another personality and send through the ISP port on the problem email addresses. You can still use your domain reply or return. See if that works.

I use Bellsouth Fast Access DSL and for a long time I was able to host my Merack Mail Server but one day they pull the plug on it and blocked port 25. When I called them the explained that they had tightened up the security.
