On November 22 & 23, 2008 (Sat - Sunday)

The Southeast Region of the First Florida Chapter will participate with the Second Infantry Division Reenactors in Hollywood to again recreate a WWII Weekend.

Location: John Williams Park 6101 Sheridan St. Hollywood, FL 33020 Map
On Sheridan, between the Turnpike bridge and before 441 on the North side.

It will feature static displays and skirmish reenactments. :good2: As in previous years, the event will last throughout the weekend with numerous vehicles and encampments on display, as well as militaria for sale by the attending vendors.

Some reenactors will be camping out at the park Saturday night just like back in the day. :ya:

You might want to bring your camera. :ya:

I personally did not go, was planning and something came up that could not be ignored, I regret not going.

My father in law went and he told me that it was great, they had more displays this year. :ya:

I don't know of anyone that went that took pictures.

Here is a much bigger show I went in middle FL a few years ago. The one in Hollywood of course was much smaller and had no plane displays dropping any bombs. I'm not sure but I think I had posted this event on JT a while back.

I will gladly try and post all that I'm aware off. Most of the time they are only displays but the Reenactors dress up the camp site like it was back in the War days. The vehicles are also very impressive. Keep watching the calendar. :yahoo:

I am also overwhelmed by this era. It was simple, even though there was a war the world was not as complicated.
Can you imagine those days without a computer. :yahoo:
