Worked on my rig a few days ago by finally getting a new exhaust pipe routed from the muffler back. After a few years it needed to be done bad. Actually it was not me that did the work but I did weld and fixed my car trailer, but that does not count since it's not a rig. :grin

last week I tore down the winch, had no free spool & the brake did not hold. All fixed now. Today not my jeep but my brothers jeep. Took the BB off ( XJ ) , changed the engine & tranny oil.

On a side note, If you havn't gone into your winch in the past 2 yrs. do so even if it still works. I had about a 1/4 of water and full of black muck. The freespool gear was frozen and the snap ring that holds the break assem. together came off.

Added 1 cup of vinigar to my coolant and ran for 10 minutes. More rust came out that i expected. Tested the oil pressure gauge and found out it's bad. Added some Bars Block Seal. Today I will see if I am
still having a pressure leak in the colling system. I did take it for a 45 minute ride around the beach and local area. No
more overheating. Very happy with that. Still knocking above 2k RPM though.

Dropped my fuel tank today to change the sending unit gasket. Orders one 2 months ago and just now getting to it. Once it was all apart, I realized it was the wrong one. Come to find out, I have a fuel tank and sending unit from a 4.0 FI and I run. 4.2 carbed. Long story short, I am gettingthe right one but still have a bad gasket.

Oh well. Tomorrow I plan on fixing the exahust leaks and attempting an allignment.

if it is a poly tank, that means it is a 20 gal tank and you can put in a 20 gal sending unit and cut the vent tubes to get all the access...

They are surface mounts so no drilling. I uses factory light mount screw holes.
Also added the license plate spare tire relocation bracket and LED light.

It has been painted and mounted on the Jeep :2thumup:
As soon as I get a tube bender I will add the stinger and in the future I will add a Steering Box Skid.

I still have to make the holes for the winch and add the fairlead mount.

Next project will be the rear Tire Carier bumper

Willy,

Nice job on the bumper. You have enough pics and questions that it merits it's own topic on this forum section. I'm sure there are a few inquiring minds on how many pounds of weld you used.

All kidding aside I see that you are following with this build and all the pics or info should not be spread. Just my opinion... in which the War Dept tells me at times it's not worth anything.

having seen the bumper in person, it looks much better than the pics...very solid and well constructed. In that holly destroyed his old bumper while helping him off a stuck, we were hoping to give it the holly seal of approval this past weekend, but he didn't get stuck...has that ever happened?!?!?!?

The CJ clip should just bolt onto a YJ tub. You might need to drill 2 holes. I did one a few years ago and if I recall correctly, it all just bolted up like it was meant to go on from the factory. Excellent way to make a jeep look nicer than it ever did before...Add round headlamps !!

I would love to add a CJ clip to a TJ.
