You see, what has happen was the dealer had it since the last thursday in july, i picked it up yesterday 8/28 at 12:00, drove it to the ranch to put the rear driveshaft in and the nice tires/wheels back on, drove it around for bout a half hour, and then it stalled out wher the pics are and went up in a blaze

my '79 cj went up once. it was my fault i knew i had a gas leak in the carburetor. i even had a rebuild kit for it for that reason. with my priorities backwards, i decided to drive it to work and paint it before i did the carburetor. stupid. well was able to put the fire out with a couple of fire extinguishers that a gas station had right next to where this happened. now i have extinguishers in every rig. its just a good idea.

how do you know it was the battery? so what size tires did you have? lift? do you have pics of before?

basicaly, the dealer had to do the rear main seal which involves dropping the tranny and u gotta disco the batt, but we found the cause, the possitive cable that goes from the batt to the starter was pinched in the tranny dipstick and grounded it out.

Well it sounds as if the Dealer owes you a new JK :biggrin1:

Sorry it had to happen though.... hopefully the after market items you added are alright and can swap over to new one.

Don't let them jerk you around on this . You need to get a lawyer, show him/her the photos, get a machanic to look at the jeep and have them put it in writing it was
the battery cable. And the dealer took it off then reinstalled it.
Good luck on this.

The proper way to handle this is to report it to your insurance company..........and they will do the research
on what caused the problem and then go against the dealership's insurance company.
