Omi,

We don't mind putting this post up as a sticky if we can get some feed back from the rest of the Members of JeepTalk.

I have to warn some of the people registering on this Forum. The member section can be viewed by anyone, not just the registered members. It is not very private as it shows email addresses when you click on an email among other things. I believe this is a privacy issue that someone already registered on this BBS should bring up. As it stands now I would warn anyone registering on this Forum until a few of the privacy issues that I witness change. This forum is fairly new and they just need to make some changes.

Once you become a registered member, any member can get in touch with each other, even emails can be send to all by moderators, or certain groups in charge of an area.

When you register the option is given -- So there is no security issue.

It asks if you would like your email to be shown to only registered users or everyone ... If it shows an email its because the person, like myself, has chosen to share it.

This is a worth cause and EVERYONE should get involved and help.

Omi,

I believe you are correct and this was an over site on my part as I briefly looked through it. I looked at it again taking a bit more time and now see that some only use the private messaging vs making their information public. Thanks for bringing it up and clearing up the mistake.

I will Stick this post up on the top, if anyone has any objections please let me know privately.

I noticed that it now has been changed, a non registered user can not view the member list unless he is registered. This is good as it protects everyone from the lurkers as they can always keep track of the registered users in the event they try to pull any funny stuff.

I wonder who suggested this to the JRO Forum.... :1grin:

Although my jeep is not set to go deep within (yet). I have excllent navigation skills, extensive rigging knowledge ,and certified diver with "quick dawn "dive gear for land to water recovery. I would be glad to ride with someone,on any rescue.

wy145,
These skills that you bring are very useful and we welcome your help.

You don't need to be set up for deep water, most of us avoid this at all cost. There are a few times we might need to be in it but it has to be within reason as we are not boats. Most important is being setup to drive into areas in where police or fire can not get too due to debri, etc. Take your time in building your vehicle for the type of wheeling you decide that you wish to do.

Omi,
That Rescue banner in your signature is so large, it's kind of tacky. At least one of us has some class.
