Went to check out the forest tonight & took some pics, a little slippery/clay but it was fun. Went w/some of the Citrus County Jeep Club mainly to check out a '07 JK that we just installed a 3" FabTech lift on w/35" tires.

Some of the pics are a little grainy, it was dark so I had to lighten them.

More are posted @ Street2mud.com/gallery

I wish I had my camera on when the pucker factor happened. '07 JK & he turned right off a peak & it started to go, all we could do is say, turn left, @ that split second he did & still had some pucker going on until he got off the peak. I asked him if he heard us & he said no :biggrin1:  :naughty: .

It was dark so some of the pics didn't come out to good. I didn't have my lighter JimI. :naughty: , U old timers on here will understand.

Good show Rollbar, glad you brought the lighter for the camera.
Btw, don't show the date on your pics, it ruins my mood for looking at pics.

And next time list your trip on the calender. :biggrin1:

No excuse, your busted! We want to see trips here as far away as California, JT is not a local forum... might seem that way from all the FL guys that hang here.

Heck there is guys that travel all over the place. They could be feeling intimidated by all the mud. We want to see some rocks!

OK. Go to Citrus County Jeepers Web Site & we can communicate there a little more easier for weekend events up here.

Ya, the third pic, the '07 4door went to the middle left last night ( as U R going up) & found himself on the edge @ the top rocking back & forth, one guy was saying to go to the right & that's when it almost went over, we quickly said NO  , turn it to the left & then he made it down.

P.S. I heard of some other areas out there last night but we didn't go  , some people had to work today, maybe next time. Also, if U R off a numbered trail, it's 350 bucks :biggrin1: & if U carry a firearm out of season U lost your Jeep  .

Are there any maps of the trails and how to get there? I would love to do a trail ride up in that area.

Citrus County Wildlife Mgt Area off 44 & West of 41 in Inverness. Just drive in & stay on the numbered trails, it's a 350 dollar fine if U R off a # trail & caring a gun out of hunting season will result in the loss of your Jeep/vehicle.

Found a Map of the area.

Note: The red "X" means that is the entrance point to the Forest.

P.S. The orange trails are all the good wheeling spots.

There area also caves in a couple of spots in the forest. They are pretty neat to see......... Most caves in FL are filled with water and you need to use SCUBA see them

We (Citrus County Jeep Club) are working on something right now w/the Forestry Division to get into Ocala's caves. They R gonna let us go to the caves that are not open to any 4x4 if we clean up around them & they will let us take the Jeeps there. Some of these places have not been traveled in many many years & there are no trails to them. So, keep your fingers crossed & hopefully we can get them to let us do it.
